In the light of recent events, many people at present have a sense of hopelessness, but there is no reason for pessimism. It's all about the person's awareness. Information in current conditions is an important tool for exercising power over people. This is an ideal tool of control, because it is enough to properly build the information message to the person, and you can induce him/her to action in the direction that you want.
Russia has recently revealed an effective example of manipulating the consciousness of huge masses of people: as soon as the authorities called white black, everything that happened in the world acquired for the people of the country a sense opposite to what people outside of the Russian Federation perceived. At the same time, the propaganda machine of the Putin's regime declared itself the only source of reliable information.
This is exactly what the organizers of sects are doing, making the information pass to its members only through their hands and claiming that they are the only reliable source of truth and also denying everything that comes from the “outside world.” This allows them to manipulate the consciousness of sect members and isolate them from the outside influence. That is how sectarians become an obedient tool in the hands of their leader and consider him/her as the source of Verity. Which means that all s/he has to do is to vigilantly keep watch over the "flock" and nip in the bud any manifestations of dissent.
There is no such a state in the world where the government and the powers that be wouldn't try to control people by manipulating their consciousness through the media. Ukraine is not an exception. The new government has no real tools for the implementation of public power, and therefore is idle. Hence follows the lack of reforms and the ability to influence domestic processes.
People in power are trying to compensate for their inaction with rhetoric and statements of intent, in order to create in the minds of the philistine the illusion of control over everything that happens in the country.
In fact, there has repeated situation with the formation of power after the "Orange Revolution," but this rime in a grotesque form, because even that there is formally a power now there are no tools for its implementation. This is a consequence of the incompetence of those who came to power. Who prevented them from analyzing the situation and getting an idea of the real state of affairs in the State?
It is far from being news that Putin, together with Yanukovich, were preparing a "peaceful" absorption of Ukraine by Russia. To do this, they destroyed the state administration and the entire national security structure as unnecessary, because according to Kremlin's plans after the "accession" Ukraine had to receive the status of one of the Russian Federation's provinces.
People on the Maidan understood this, and therefore called for the formation at the state level of the institution of self-government, as well as the country's self-defense on the principles of self-organization instead of the existing system of power. This is one of the possible ways to gain statehood.
The second way is to get it from the hands of Europe or Russia, but this will already be a colonial type of statehood. Russia disappears because of its desire to occupy Ukraine, so there remains Europe, which can organize public administration in Ukraine, delegating there its administrators and managers.
True, in this case the new power, with its desire to enrich itself, will be abolished, as well as the detachment of many thousands of functionaries left over from its predecessors will.
But one shouldn't forget about the real danger from Russia with its desire to annex Ukraine and the modern army, capable of implementing such plans in a short time. An example of this is the occupation of the Crimea. We must face the truth and honestly admit that Ukraine has neither the strength nor the means to repel possible aggression.
Usually there is a certain logic in the development of events, but in the case of Ukraine it is absent. How can one explain the unmotivated flight of Yanukovich and Russia's refusal from a large-scale invasion of Ukraine? Why should Putin mess with the LPR (so called Lugansk People's Republic) and the DNR (so called Donetsk People's Republic) if he could get all at once? What caused the huge losses of the Russian military and mercenaries in the ATO (anti-terrorist operation) area? Why mass shelling of the cities' uptowns don't have the effect that was observed in Chechnya or Georgia, and the population is not subject to panic?
All these questions indicate the non-random nature of what is happening. We observe effective and well-motivated actions in the interests of Ukraine, but do not know anything about their Source.
In this situation, there are two possible options for the Ukrainian side's actions. First: just to ignore what is happening, which the current government demonstrates, and despite the lack of a full-scale invasion to give up its positions, yielding to the demands of the Russian side only because it threatens with its intentions. Doing so we risk losing the whole country.
The second option presupposes a reasonable response to what is happening in the context of the enemy's observed troubles, which are of a long-term nature. We don't appeal to the unrealized capabilities of the aggressor, but follow the conclusions from the analysis of what is happening, which allows us to see the objective nature of the reasons for the limitations in its capabilities' the realization. Simply put, if we start fighting, we can liberate the occupied territories and drive the enemy out of the country. We have no reason to doubt that He Who helped us to defeat the enemy before will also help us now.
Probably, the Ukrainian power has its own vision of the events taking place in the country, but judging by its actions it only reacts reflexively to them, and even then only from the point of view of its survival. All the promises that the government has generously distributed since its inception, remained unfulfilled, which does not prevent it from continuing to give new ones.
There is inevitably approaching the time when it will have to talk about the true reasons for its inaction, but it hopes that this will not happen soon, and before that its representatives can become rich enough to not worry about their future after leaving their positions.
Until the state administration apparatus does not function in the country, neither the president, nor the government, nor the newly elected Verkhovna Rada (the Parliament of Ukraine) will be able to implement a single decision. The problem is that there are no specialists who could reanimate it or build a new one.
That is why the military volunteers are defending the country, and the civil volunteers are managing logistic arrangements for them. The burden of war is borne by the Ukrainian people, and those in power at this time plunder the budget and simply get in their way. The government betrays, sells, deceives and shows its complete incompetence, managing to shout at every corner about its importance and irreplaceability, but, contrary to its assurances, no changes for the better in the life of the country occur.
Those who are capable of raising the country not in words but in deeds, are now defending it from the enemy, since there is no one else to do this. They proved the effectiveness of the theses of Maidan, creating a self-defense force and a powerful civil volunteer movement on the principles of self-organization and self-government.
The country stiffened in anticipation of change. Time is lost, as well as confidence in the president, the government and the Verkhovna Rada, but there is hope for those who endured on the Maidan and are now defending the country. Only they are able to realize the bright dream of the Ukrainian people about freedom, independence and a happy life.
God is with them!
